Winter & ongoing Monthly needs
Can you help? Many horses are in need!
As winter is now here there is so much that still
needs done! Each of our "horse ports" need closed in for winter,
water
lines need checked along with electric & heaters for outdoor watering needs.
Hay is still very much in need.

The property at IHR Central and IHR
Southwest belongs to Animal Protection Coalition, Inc.
While donations do come in and fundraisers are going
on, they do not add up to what it will cost to feed the many horses that are
counting on us / you! Estimated costs for just 2 of our divisions (11/06/08) are
listed above. This does not include veterinary expenses, or daily fuel for
tractors, etc. Many of our facilities are run from the directors home and
their paycheck - We can not do this alone-we need
your help!
Doing without one Starbucks coffee each week
would amount to $20.00 a month
Skipping one Friday or Saturday out to dinner once a month could add up
to $60 or more
We realize everyone is doing without to try to make ends
meet - maybe you can think of a way to raise funds for the rescue.
Please contact us with ideas!
Does your company do any matching donations? Can you send out an e-mail to
your friends? There are rescues all over the country that are closing,
which makes for less places for horses in need to go.
IHR has already started a waiting list for those wanting to donate horses.
We must be sure we have room for those horses that are in need if/when law
enforcement or animal control has animals that must be confiscated and housed.
IHR Southwest is wanting to take part of the
property and turn it into a wild horse refuge. Many may remember that we
took in 63 wild mustangs from the 500+ Slick Gardner seizure in California
several years ago. We still have 9 of these that are not highly
adoptable and we would love to allow them to live out their lives in a sanctuary
setting. T-posts & fencing has been obtained, but shelter, automatic waterer and fence charger
are needed for this project before we can transfer the horses from Frankfort to
Owensville.
As everyone knows, hay & grain is a big part
of caring for the horses. We have hay suppliers that are willing to sell
us hay & grain at good prices, but need the funds to purchase it for the horses.
Every dollar goes a long way!
Thank you to everyone for their donations!
God Bless you!
We need YOU, now more than ever.
Thank you just never seems enough!
