Boogie was stirring up the herd this morning trying to get them to run and play with her in the snow. Andre was the only one who started playing a bit. I decided that she was being so comical I needed to get pictures. I hope you all enjoy these new pics of Boogie!

The trainers worked with Boogie this weekend and while she did great with being around people and being handled, she was not sure how to lunge. She still has issue with touching her sides and wants to kick out with leg pressure. She was ridden by the trainers and the recommendation is that Boogie needs an experienced rider that can help her continue her training.

Today the Chiropractor stopped by so we had him take a look at Boogie's back to make sure she didn't have any issues. She was fine, so we decided to see how she did with a rider. One of our volunteers sat on her bareback with no issues at all, even when being led forward she moved along with no problems. When leg pressure was applied to her sides slightly, she reacted by pinning her ears and scooting her rear in that direction. She is very sensitive, so the rider decided to put pressure on her shoulder muscle and got the same reaction. Only when the rider pulled her mane and leaned into the direction that she wanted to go, did Boogie not respond by pinning her ears and moving her rear. We did this exercise of leaning without touching her sides and Boogie seemed to respond very well to this technique. We are guessing that perhaps she had had spurs used on her in the past and that she is anticipating being prodded with spurs. This issue is going to take some time and patience to work through, but Boogie is willing to learn!

Do you have the time and patience to work with this BEAUTIFUL girl?

Boogie is a 12 year old Arabian/Thoroughbred Cross. She leads very well and has very good ground manners. She is very easy to catch and really likes people. Boogie needs a person that is willing spend time and work with her under saddle. She needs to be able to form a close bond with her human.
