UPDATE
10/21/07
The trainers worked with Dorothy on ground work and saddle work. They
said she is calm with ground work and good with lunge exercises. They
saddled and bridled her with no problems. She was also ridden and did
well for a young horse. She is green broke and ready to advance. It was
also noted that she has good potential as a buggy horse! Dorothy is
halter broke and easy to lead and load into a trailer. She will pick up
her front feet, but is still working on her rear feet. This gal has so
much potential, she just needs that "special" person to help her
progress and train her into the perfect mount!

Dorothy is a sweet little girl. She is approximately 3-4 years old. She
is a Standardbred type horse and will go into a pacing type gate. She
was very standoffish when she first came to the rescue, however now she
is very social and will come right over to you to visit you in her
pasture. Dorothy gets along very well with other horses, she loves being
in a herd. She gets along with both geldings and mares. She knows how to
lead, load a trailer, and pick up her front feet, she still needs work
with her back feet. Dorothy would make an excellent project horse for
someone with training experience. She is very smart and is willing to
learn.
Do you have the time and
patience to train a young horse?
